Cayman Cookout 2026: Poolside at Rum & Robusto
Mise en Place Events was proud to be part of Cayman Cookout once again, serving guests at the Rum & Robusto event.
Set poolside, the evening brought together visiting chefs, local talent and food lovers for a relaxed night of rum, cigars and shared plates. From our kitchen came a jerk oyster mushroom with carrot and ginger puree, callaloo chimichurri and crispy shallots, a flavourful nod to Caribbean ingredients and techniques.
For founder Sean Collins, the event always carries extra meaning. After winning the Cayman Cookout Cook-Off in 2018, he spent a week training in a New York restaurant kitchen – an experience that still shapes how he approached both food and mentorship today.
It was also a pleasure to see young Caymanian chefs featured throughout the weekend’s events, including at the Sunday Brunch. Watching the next generation step forward is part of what makes Cookout special each year.
Events like this highlight what the Cayman food community does best: sharing knowledge, supporting local talent and bringing people together around the table.
